the twilight zone

For this piece, I used basic gestalt principles that I learned from Visual Thinking 1 to create tension and evoke discomfort in viewers. My goal was to capture the unsettling feeling experienced while watching the show. I drew inspiration from the opening narration outlining the 5th dimension at the start of each episode to guide my design process. Based on the descriptive setting outlined by the narrator, I chose to incorporate an optical illusion to convey depth. Additionally, I used the monospace typeface I designed in Type 1 to reflect the mechanical and unnatural sensations that the series evokes.
